Liked: What a beautiful camp site. Perfectly located and artfully crafted. Very welcoming and excellent hosts. We were lucky enough to stumble across one of their gourmet evenings , well how lucky were we! Delicious evening meal and breakfast.
We will definitely be back and telling all of our friends and family. Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful , welcoming haven.

They have thought of everything!

This was the nicest campsite we’ve stayed at! It was beautifully laid out with so many thoughtful touches (access to a kitchen with fridge? Brilliant!). Everything was clean and well cared for and the animals were lovely! A very laid back vibe. The lovely hosts did home made pizzas one evening and the food was delicious, 100% we will be back! Just for info (it didn’t bother us at all) If you have mobility issues I probably wouldn’t book algie or don don as they are at the bottom of the campsite with a slope up to the toilets.

Daffyd tent pitch (Adults Only)

Me and my partner really enjoyed our stay at Tipis for 3 nights! We wished we’d booked longer. Lovely and peaceful location. Fire pits on each pitch, seating and great views. There is a place to cook and eat if you need it. Logs for sale £5 and you can also buy eggs, jam, fire lighters and the list goes on with an honesty box. Toilet and shower blocks are kept really clean with hot water. Ian and Jane are welcoming and friendly. They really have thought of everything but keeping it as simple as possible. It’s lovely they have pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks and their cute dogs. Will definitely stay here again :)

This place is amazing! Ian and Jane have thought of everything you could possibly need. Table tennis, communal kitchen facilities, lovely clean shower facilities, the list goes on! Ian and Jane give great recommendations for places to visit and things to do with lots to explore nearby. Pizza night on Saturday was such a great treat too. This was such a peaceful break for us, we will definitely be returning!

Don Don Tent Pitch (Adults Only)

Our short trip to Tipis at Ponty was absolutely wonderful, and we will definitely be recommending it to everyone we know! Ian and Jane were so friendly, and the campsite itself is truly a hidden gem (so peaceful!). The location is stunning with some amazing views but also in a very good spot and not far from other day out opportunities. The range of facilities like the wet rooms and kitchenette are clean and well maintained, and added touches like the Sunset Shack and the animals around the campsite made the place feel very welcoming. We will definitely be returning when we can.

Perfect relaxing camp site

We loved this camp site. It was easy to find. Jane and Ian were very welcoming upon arrival and we were given a guided tour of the site. The site has limited numbers which is just want we wanted. It made the stay peaceful and relaxing. The facilities were much better than we expected. There were wet rooms, which were immaculate throughout the stay, and cooking facilities. We loved it and would return.

Don Don Tent Pitch (Adults Only)

This is a such lovely campsite! We only stayed the one night as we were passing by but will definitely be back! We would recommend the Algie and Don Don pitches - so peaceful right by the river. All the facilities were very clean, fantastic hot water showers. There were lots of lovely touches around the site - the sunset shack in particular. The owners were very friendly but also gave you space which is just what we needed.

CABIN RITA (Adults Only)

Jane and Ian have created a wonderful campsite at Ponty! The overall site is beautiful and it really deserves it's green credentials with wild areas, new saplings and plenty of birdlife. Cabin Rita was a real treat in cold early May with a roaring fire and lots of warm touches inside. We spent the afternoons at the sunset shack to catch the final rays of the day and the mornings on Rita's terrace - a lovely private spot (plus the friendly cows and sheep). We can't thank Jane and Ian enough, so much thought, special touches and effort has gone into site - plus accommodating for our sensitivities on pizza night.

Wow wow wow!!!!! What an absolute find this was! I booked this on the morning of our stay as our original booking didn’t go to plan... and I am thrilled that it didn’t as we would not have found this truly magical place. When we arrived we was greeted by Jane who took us on a tour of the site and we could not believe our luck! Ian and Jane had thought of everything even down to shampoo and conditioner. The tipis were beautiful with fresh bedding, dinner sets, cups, glasses, cutlery and even egg cups!! We was lovely and warm in the evening with the the fire in the tipi. We was lucky enough to arrive on a beautiful evening and watched the sun setting with fire lit outside our tipi. The second night we wasn’t so lucky with the weather but after a long day in Liverpool and fire lit inside the tipi when we came back it was so peaceful and relaxing! We can not wait to return! Don Don Tent Pitch (Adults Only)

We arrived at Tipis at Ponty and although the weather wasn't great, we had a great introduction to the site by Ian. We pitched at Don Don and although it says its the smallest pitch, in our opinion its one, if not the best pitch. Right on the bottom River with the birds the sunshine and the Bank behind you blocking the wind. Sitting under the River shack at night with log burner going and having a cold one. What could be better? Ian and Jane made our stay all the more with their hospitality, always stopping to chat in the morning asking if everything is OK and providing us with information on places of interest and best walks. Ian and Jane are both professional caterers and in the site shop you'll fine lots of lovely treats, from the treacle tarts and chocolate covered cheese cake. (yum). That's to name but a few. Everything, from the kitchen, shop shower blocks are all Covid friendly and everyone sanitised and cleaned all touch areas and have areas well ventilated. You seriously can't go wrong at Tipis at Ponty for a relaxed friendly camping experience. Thanks guys. Patsy and John.

Daffyd tent pitch (Adults Only)

What an absolutely amazing place this is, I’m not sure there’s enough characters available to review properly! Ian and Jane welcomed me on arrival and showed me round the site. I found them to be incredibly friendly and helpful during my trip. They are so passionate about what they’re doing here and it’s lovely to see. They even helped me put my tent up :) The actual site itself is just a slice of heaven! You can hear animals beating and calling all through the day and night. I literally just sat in my deckchair just relaxing and felt truly at peace for the first time in years. All of the pitches are relatively private and they’ve been landscaped to ensure that you’re not overlooked by other guests. There’s a lovely stream at the bottom of the site and some great walks from the site itself. As a camping amateur, I was delighted to see that there is a proper bathroom on offer with an excellent shower! There’s also a kitchenette with microwave and fridge freezers. There are basic rations also available with fresh eggs, toiletries, wood for the fire etc. Ian will also bring you some lovely croissants in the morning for a small charge. The town is only a 2 min drive away and has a couple of shops, pubs and takeaways. So much to see within a short drive too! So to surmise, if you’re looking for a few days of peace, tranquility and bliss just book it! You won’t regret it and I’ll be back for sure!

Liked: Ian and Jane are perfect hosts - they have thought of everything you might possibly need during your stay and are very attentive and welcoming. We have no doubt that we will return next season to this beautiful site - tranquil and full of interest - from the river and abundant wildlife to the phenomenal views - wonderful. Can’t ask for more than hot croissants and homemade jams delivered to the pitch for breakfast!

Liked: - Gorgeous site
- Friendly and helpful hosts
- Good facilities - only thing missing is perhaps somewhere to dry wet clothes (but a fire could have done the job if needed)

Disliked: - If both riverside pitches had been occupied it would have felt a bit crowded!
- This is unavoidable due to the nature of the site, but the steep slope down to some of the pitches would be a struggle for anyone with mobility difficulties

Liked: Beautiful location and Ian and Jane were wonderful hosts! We arrived on pizza night, which was perfect - even being gluten free, I was catered for, which was hugely appreciated. The cabin had everything we needed, with lovely little home made treats as an added bonus, and we enjoyed the sausages, bacon and eggs available on site. We really loved how peaceful the site is, as each pitch is well spaced out, and the communal spaces are well maintained and thoughtfully done. Our puppy loved meeting the animals and having a good romp around the fenced off fields near by. Would very highly recommend!

This went beyond meeting our expectations! We loved how much space we had between each pitch, it felt like we were the only ones camping. It was a beautiful and peaceful experience, and were made to feel as though we were at a 5* hotel. The facilities are clean, the showers are hot and powerful and the hosts were beyond lovely! We were even invited to their first fajita night - and can vouch the food is EPIC! It was my girlfriends birthday and they even bought out a homemade chocolate brownie with a candle to celebrate! We have told all of our friends and family to stay here, and we will definitely be back. Thank you so so so much for a truly wonderful time :-) Love Nick and Pip (p.s. we got engaged the day after! x)

Liked: A great stay. Very good facilities - bathroom well looked after and kitchen has fridge/freezer, kettle and microwave. Local information was great from Ian and also from posters in the Kitchen. Lovely isolation and small site meant that even though it was August, it was still a very tranquil stay.
